Megan Grazer

Director, Project Operations

I am motivated to understand how people cooperate, the interactions, processes and systems that they rely on to facilitate this, and how these can be improved. Witnessing and supporting cooperation across diverse contexts – from civil society mobilization in the Middle East, to local peace processes and democratization in the Somali region – has given me a strong interest and foundation in process thinking and change management, which I am excited to grow.

Currently, as Director of Project Operations at Busara, I improve how we work together and the tools, processes, and systems we rely upon, to design and deliver projects effectively and efficiently. To date, this has led me to explore and develop solutions to a range of questions, such as: how we can make our knowledge more easily accessible; how finance and project teams can better support each other; how we can improve project kick off practices; and what tools, resources and structures can harmonize and streamline project development.

Prior to joining Busara, I worked with international organizations and NGOs, managing peacebuilding and development programs across the Middle East and Africa. With Interpeace, I developed and managed a large, multi-year program in Somalia and Somaliland; worked closely with, and built the capacities of, local partners; led donor engagement; and established strong relationships with Somali stakeholders, as well as the international community. Before moving to East Africa, I worked with ACTED in Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine, managing their regional programming on civil society, youth engagement and women’s empowerment.

I have an MA in International Security from Sciences Po, Paris, and a BSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics.
